"Just A Minute" (Jam Room) a fabulous concept

Funky Yukka were proud and honoured to be a part of creating a "Jam Room" for Virgin Trains at Crewe Station. We were excited to take on the project and could wait to get started. We wanted to help Virgin Trains to create an environment which allows people with learning difficulties, autism or communication barriers to escape for "just a minute" to a safe and discreet place easily.

A range of fabulous artificial panels were used throughout this project to achieve a calm and peaceful atmosphere. The moss wall looked incredible surronding the window creating a master focal point! It created the scene the company was looking for and they were impressed with the installation and excellent customer service provided by Funky Yukka.

JAM Card was originally developed for those with learning disabilities and difficulties. However, it can be used by anyone with a communication barrier. For instance, JAM Card can be used by people with Asperger’s or autism. It can also be used by those who have a brain injury and people who otherwise feel self-conscious about their ability to effectively communicate when engaging with others and

somewhere people can escape from a very busy station and hopefully encourage those with hidden disabilities to have the confidence to travel by train
