Plant of the Month - Celosia
This month, we thought we'd take a closer look at a summer flower with a fiery background - celosia. This striking plant has many pseudonyms , most commonly, cock's comb, due to it's bloom being similar to the plumage found on cockerel's heads. It is also sometimes called wool flower as it's petals have a soft, yarn-like texture.
The name celosia is derives from the Greek word kḗleos, which means flames, This is of course, referring again to the unique flower heads. Because of this, this scorching flower had to be our plant of the month for August!
